My Ausome Brother is the true story told through the eyes of a big sister about what it's like to have a little brother on the autism spectrum. She explains how she finds creative ways to accommodate his special needs in order to help him feel accepted, happy, and comfortable in this overwhelming world.
A portion of proceeds will be donated to the Organization for Autism Research
My Ausome Brother is dedicated to the inspiring relationship between my daughter, Cadence, and her little brother, Blaney. Despite the challenges that come along with her brother’s autism diagnosis, Cadence has shown nothing but patience, support, and encouragement towards him. Her empathy and dedication to learn, understand, and evolve with her brother’s ever-changing needs make her a great role model to us all. I’d also like to thank my husband, Darrin, for his commitment and adaptability to learn how he can be the best dad possible to both of his children. They say, “it takes a village”, so I’d like to thank my village as well. To all the grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, and Ms. Dana’s ASD class who have helped our family lead successful, happy, healthy, and fun lives, I am forever grateful. Finally, I’d like to thank my sweet Blaney Boy for providing me the inspiration to take on this new book writing endeavor. You bring our family so much joy and we are proud of how far you’ve come. You melt our hearts every time you smile. We are honored to be on this journey with you and can’t wait to see what your bright future holds.
